Remote Control Idea
So one of my crazy ideas is to have a quadcopter or selfie-stick type camera follow behind
the robot and you can see the robot and control him on your computer via a live video feed. Even easier
would be a first person view of what the robot is seeing with his
webcam eyes. You would then use your mouse and keyboard to control the robot, walking around, picking things
up, etc as if you were playing a videogame. I could even let people online use this
feature to control my robot and have it take out my trash remotely for me! It would be like completing a quest
in a game! Talk about great graphics! Just gotta make sure not to let people turn my robot into their own
real life version of Grand Theft Auto! This remote control thing could be fun as you could literally make
like a level or a game and have the robot be the main character of the game and the user plays the videogame
except it is all happening in real life so the graphics are literally real and not CGI. This could be extended
into day to day life instead of a sandboxed walled off field or building, however, the robot would have to
really be able to disagree and not do things the "gamer" controlling it is trying to get it to do if doing
so would go against the robot's morals and values system. This would prevent the "gamer" controlling it
from doing immoral or illegal acts with it. Taking it out of a sandboxed walled in context and into the
open world to do adventures would carry a lot of risks so would have to be done cautiously and may not
even be worth pursuing due to the risks especially with some random gamer at the helm. But the idea is
cool in general and would be worth doing if it was just me or my family member at the helm and the users
are all trusted and the robot's AI is so good it poses no threat to anyone and is a upstanding level member
of society (to the extent a machine can be considered a "member" of society)
